OWEN is a leading Vietnamese fashion brand that combines modern style with national identity. To celebrate 80 years of independence, the brand launched an interactive campaign that allowed users to share personal stories, upload photos, and generate customized frames symbolizing resilience and pride. The project not only strengthened OWEN’s digital presence but also bridged cultural storytelling with gamified engagement, transforming a commemorative event into an emotional and shareable brand experience.
PROBLEM
OWEN wanted a digital campaign to celebrate 80 years of Vietnamese independence, but its existing touchpoints could not translate national pride into an interactive, sharable experience. The brand’s modern fashion image needed to harmonize with patriotic symbols without feeling cliché or heavy. User flows for UGC contests were fragmented—rules, upload, and results lived in separate places and didn’t guide participants smoothly. As a result, emotional momentum often dropped before users finished creating and sharing their stories.
SOLUTION
We designed a gamified landing experience where anyone can upload a photo, write a short message, and instantly generate a personalized “Proud of Vietnamese Spirit” frame. The site pairs a bold, textured headline style with a classic serif body, and a vivid palette (red for strength, yellow for pride, blue for freshness) to balance tradition and modernity. Clear wayfinding connects the overview, contest rules, creation flow, loading state, and results gallery, encouraging social shares and repeat participation. Every screen intentionally leads users from discovery to creation to celebration.
CHALLENGE
The key challenge was aligning patriotic storytelling with usability and taste. Too much decoration risked slowing performance and obscuring the message; too little would reduce emotional impact. We had to optimize large imagery, ensure legibility of textured type across backgrounds, handle content moderation and safe-sharing patterns, and make the generator feel fast on mobile networks. Multiple iterations—visual refinements, micro-copy tweaks, and prototype testing—were required to strike the right balance.

The final experience feels proudly Vietnamese yet refreshingly contemporary. It turns national symbolism into a personal canvas, enabling users to tell their own stories while strengthening OWEN’s brand equity.
